Spicy Rosa Sauce

  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 piece garlic cloves
  • 2 tsp crushed pepper flakes
  • 2 can crushed tomatoes (28 oz. total)
  • 1/2 tsp basil
  • 1/2 tsp oregano
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • pepper
  • 1/3 cup cashews (soaked)
  • 1/3 cup sunflower seeds (soaked)
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tsp lemon juice
  • 1/5 tsp apple cider vinegar

Red sauce

  1. Heat the oil over medium heat.
  2. Add garlic & chilies and cook until fragrant (1 minute). (If no chilies, can substitute with Pili Pili sauce.)
  3. Add tomatoes, basil, oregano, sugar and salt & pepper to taste.
  4. Simmer for ~15 minutes.

White sauce

  1. Blend soaked nuts with water, lemon juice & cider until smooth.
  2. Add to red sauce, mix & serve.
